Dr Alan Patrick, MD, FRCPE is a Consultant Physician and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Acute Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. He is currently senior lecturer in clinical medicine at the University of Colombo and a specialist physician at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Colombo. He is actively involved in postgraduate training in general medicine at the PGIM and in courses conducted by the Ceylon College of Physicians, of which he has been secretary in the past.
